June 2021 Newsletter – Issue 5

Welcome to the fifth edition of our newsletter, where we would like to keep you up-to-date with the latest news, events and activities happening here at Lymehurst.

What’s New?

We have introduced training ‘themes’ each quarter, giving our staff the opportunity to stay up-to-date in a range of current courses. So far, we have focused on ‘recording information’ and ‘communication’

We are having a new website being designed and built…look out for it’s launch soon!

What’s on?

We have enjoyed welcoming visitors back once more and we thank you for your understanding in the steady, measured pace we must take when organizing indoor visits, in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. We also welcome outdoor visits in our beautiful gardens. If you would like to book an appointment to visit, please do so on: (01743) 351615

What’s been happening at Lymehurst?

We have celebrated special occasions such as Easter, Mother’s Day and May Day, over this spring. We have also followed individual interests by planning and enjoying a Spanish-themed and Greek themed party! We do love a party here at Lymehurst—any excuse for music, fun and laughter! With special thanks to our wonderful staff for planning such fun, engaging and inclusive events for our residents.

Feed the Birds

The Wildlife Trust are running a wonderful campaign, called ‘Feed the Birds’ www.shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk/feedthebirds

Diane, from the Wildlife Trust has visited us to get us up and running and has now appointed a volunteer, Cath, who visits us each week. Cath fills up the bird feeder that has been kindly gifted to us by the Wildlife Trust and we hope that when Covid guidelines allow, she will be able to work alongside our residents in the garden delivering workshops and activities around the birds.

Covid-19 Update

As a staff, we are continuing to take weekly tests and all of the necessary precautions to keep our residents safe. Staff and residents who took up the offer of the vaccine have now received both doses., with our forever thanks to our amazing NHS.

Did you know…

We have just set up a ‘Go Fund Me’ page, to raise funds for a giant touchscreen, with a whole range of activities and possibilities for our residents to access. To find out more, and donate, please visit https://www.gofundme.com/manage/help-lymehursts-residents-get-a-giant-touchscreen

Food Menus

We have updated the food menus to suit the seasonal spring/summer change. We are now busy creating these delicious menus into a pictorial format, which will be accessible to all.
