About our home

History of Lymehurst

A home away from home

Lymehurst is a charismatic Georgian house, with beautiful surroundings. It was purchased by its present owners in 1984, when it was then transformed into a beautiful, spacious Rest Home, with the addition of two gorgeous extensions. We are very proud to say that Lymehurst is still run by the same family, with their personal touches and friendly welcome.

A touch of character

Taking a walk around Lymehurst, you can immediately see signs of character especially in the entrance hall where a beautiful giant mirror is hung and original cornicing is seen. There is a spacious lounge which is a perfect place to sit and talk with friends and family, and is also the home to our magnificent grandfather clock.

A homely atmosphere

Lymehurst prides itself on creating a comfortable homely atmosphere for our residents with many historical and beautifully restored characteristics. There is also a gorgeous garden to sit, enjoy and relax in, on warmer days. This, together with your treasured items from home, makes Lymehurst feel more like home, and we know how important this is for you and your loved one.
